Lasse Sorensen was impressed with the pressure his side applied to the Shrews in the Imps’ 3-0 victory over Shrewsbury Town.
The constant harrying of Salop's back-line led to City creating a host of chances, and Sorensen was pleased with how his side performed across the 90 minutes.
Sorensen said: “I think we set the tone from the beginning, obviously that was the plan and we went and did it.
“The whole game they couldn’t live with our press. Every time we gave the ball away we got it straight back and I think we just looked really good as a team with the way we pressed and the way we moved the ball.”
Goals from Ted Bishop and Reeco Hackett set the Imps on the way to a ninth game unbeaten with the Dane full of praise for his team-mates.
He added: “We all know how good Bish is, obviously you see it on a match day, but we see it every day in training. I’m not really surprised because I see it every day, and he’s really showing how good he is now - I’m really pleased for him.
“Reeco’s come back and he’s been on fire. The fans were singing it which I was laughing at, he’s got great quality and he’s getting the assists and goals at the moment which is great for him and for us, but I’ve never been in doubt of how good of a player he is.”
It was Sorensen’s outlandish late winner which sealed the points for City however with the wing-back bending a perfectly placed cross beyond the reach of Harry Burgoyne and into the far corner.
Sorensen cheekily continued: “I saw the ‘keeper off his line and dipped it into the far corner. It’s one of them, you sometimes do a shot, sometimes you cross it and it ends up in the top corner.”
