Midfielder Conor McGrandles is excited about the prospect of returning to action in a City shirt at the LNER Stadium against Fleetwood Town this weekend.
On loan from Charlton Athletic, the 28-year-old came back to the club last Thursday following a previous two-year spell as an Imp between 2020 and 2022.
"It's a brilliant stadium, with a proper atmosphere. I'm excited about getting back out there," he said.
"It's going to be tough, especially when you see Fleetwood's last few results. However, if we go in with the same mentality we had against Burton, it will be a good game and hopefully we can come out of it with the right result."
McGrandles came on as a substitute in last weekend's win at Burton Albion and used his experience to help City gain three valuable points as he made his first league appearance in more than two months.
He said: "Coming on at the weekend, it was about seeing the game out and we managed that as a whole team.
"Everyone wants to play. There's nothing like that feeling going out on a Saturday or Tuesday night and playing games. It's been a tough spell for me at Charlton, not playing as much as I'd want, but hopefully I can get a few games here and help the team."To get back to somewhere where I really enjoyed my football was a big draw. The club, the people and the city are great.
"There's a good bit of familiarity in the changing room with people I knew in my previous spell which has made it easier to settle in. The new boys I've met have been brilliant too.
"At 28, I'm one of the older boys now, but hopefully I can use my experience and help the younger ones on and off the pitch.”
