A resolute performance from the Imps helped earn another point on the road at Charlton Athletic.
After an even start to the match, Lasse Sorensen latched on a poor header from George Dobson down the right wing to send a ball into the centre which Ted Bishop couldn’t quite connect with.
The next best chance for City came in the 22nd minute after Sorensen stood a ball into the area for Draper who darted past a Charlton defender to head goalwards, but the effort took a deflection and bounced wide.
Tyreeq Bakinson had two opportunities to put his side in front midway through the first half after he scrambled an effort at goal which was held by Lukas Jensen before dragging a shot wide from outside the area a few minutes later.
Michael Skubala’s side opened the scoring in the 37th minute as Hackett did well to bring down Dobson’s poor defensive header on the edge before lashing the ball past Harry Isted’s near post.
Charlton started the second half on the front foot and created a good opportunity for themselves which led to Bakinson slipping in Tennai Watson who lifted the ball past an onrushing Jensen but well wide of the target.
Despite the Charlton pressure, Michael Skubala’s side continued to threaten in spells and won a free-kick 25-yards out which was laid off for Mandroiu who curled it past the wall and off the outside of the right post.
Nathan Jones, in his first home game as Charlton manager, brought on Freddie Ladapo halfway through the second half who made an instant impact with a powerful finish from outside the box into the bottom left corner.
The hosts looked to build on the momentum and asked questions of the City backline as they pushed players forward, however the Imps were equal to this challenge to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
