Supporters of the Foundation took to the streets of Lincoln on Sunday to raise thousands of pounds to help people across the county.
The Foundation were official charity partners of the Lincoln 10K, the showpiece annual running event in the city, with more than a dozen people collecting sponsorship for their participation.
And Poacher The Imp, City’s mascot, also completed the race - after waving the flag to officially send everyone on their way.
Alice Carter, head of healthier communities at the Foundation, said: “The Lincoln 10k is a great event for our city, and as a charity that works in the city, it’s wonderful to be a part of the event as an official charity partner. This year’s event has helped to raise awareness of the Foundation and raise funds for the community projects that we deliver.
“We’re really thankful to all our Foundation fundraisers who took part in the 10k. We had 22 people out running for the Foundation, and we are proud of everyone’s performances and achievements. This was our first year being a charity partner of the 10k, and we hope to build on it in the long term for many years to come.”
Foundation staff also helped organisers Run For All by volunteering at the event. Kate O’Reilly, the Foundation's community manager who acted as an event marshal, said: “Our ethos is happier, healthier, inspired communities and part of that is supporting those communities with health and wellbeing. Running is shown to help improve your mental wellbeing as well as your physical wellbeing.
“It was great being able to cheer everyone on and see the effort that they’re putting in.”
Thank you to everyone who took part in the event to raise money for the Foundation, and to those who sponsored their efforts.
