Michael Skubala is looking forward to another big match atmosphere at the LNER Stadium on Saturday.
The head coach knows the importance of the home crowd and wants his team to use this as motivation to start the game on the front foot against Wigan Athletic.
He said: “It’s going to be a tough fixture but we are at home so we have to take the game to them and stamp our authority on it.
“I think it’s really important that the fans try and enjoy it. We really need them behind us on Saturday to keep singing and keep pushing the team.
“I know it's a nervous time for the supporters, but we want them to get behind the team because they’ve done that all season really well. It’s amazing how well that can push us on.”
Wigan are next up for the Imps but Skubala insists his team must focus on themselves if they are to pick up another three points.
He added: “They are a really good team who are well coached by Shaun Maloney. I went to watch them on Tuesday against Charlton and they can really hurt you.
“I believe we need to look after ourselves on the day because we can only control how well we prepare and perform. At the end of that 90 minutes on Saturday hopefully we can get three points.”
