Paudie O’Connor has praised his side's resilience following a narrow defeat at Portsmouth.
City lost 2-1 to the Sky Bet League One table-toppers on Saturday, with O’Connor commending his team-mates for the way they limited the hosts to many big opportunities.
He said: "I thought the overall performance was quite good. Coming away to Portsmouth who are in decent form, we knew it was going to be a tough game but I thought we dealt with their threats really well.
"They didn’t have too many clear cut chances and I don’t really remember Lukas Jensen having to make too many big saves."
Despite suffering a first league defeat since the opening day of the season, O’Connor believes there are still plenty of positives to take from the game.
He added: "I felt the lads dug in, and there would probably be a lot of teams who go under especially after conceding on the stroke of half-time.
"We were hard to break down in the second half and we did get chances, unfortunately we weren’t able to take them.
"There is lots to build on and take into the busy run of fixtures coming up."
