Supporters are invited to take part in a minute’s applause to celebrate the life of legendary former Imps manager Colin Murphy prior to Wednesday night's tie against West Ham United.
City supporters who wish to pay their respects can do so with the applause to be held before to kick-off in City’s round three Carabao Cup tie against the Hammers.
Colin was known for building one of the best City sides of all time, leading the club to promotion in 1980/81 before solidifying the club’s position in the third tier and almost securing another promotion to the second division.
He returned to the Imps for a second time in 1987 and secured promotion back to the football league during his first season back in charge.
Lovingly known as ‘Murph’, Colin managed the Imps last time City faced West Ham at the LNER Stadium, back in 1982.
Supporters are kindly asked to arrive into the ground slightly earlier than usual to join in with the tribute before the game gets underway.
