Ali Smith was pleased with the discipline City showed in their 2-0 victory against Wolves’ U21 side in the EFL Trophy.
Hakeeb Adelakun and Jovon Makama scored the goals to seal victory for the Imps and take them above the academy side in group G.
Smith said: “Games like that are tough because sometimes you can take your eye off the ball with them being an U21s side, but it’s still a game you’ve got to win.
“I thought we were all really disciplined, and I’m happy with the result.”
Smith was also happy to see Makama score his second senior goal of his career, with the youngster finishing from a late counter-attack.
He added: “I’m happy for him.
“He works really hard, and when he came on he put in a real good shift for us, and he got his reward at the end. I’m over the moon that he scored his first goal of the season.”
