Tom Shaw is proud of the way the club has united in the past days both on and off the pitch.
City ground out an impressive 1-0 victory at Fleetwood Town on Saturday afternoon and the interim head coach believes it is further evidence of a unified club.
He said: “Seeing the supporters come alive at the end of the warm-up is what gets us over the line – they are absolutely brilliant and the perception of our club is so good in the football world.
“Even on Friday night you saw what the club is all about with members of the football club working with Lincolnshire Highways to protect the Sincil Bank community from flooding all through the night. It’s a special club where people have had to come together over the past few days and the rewards were there come the 99th minute on Saturday afternoon.”
Shaw was also pleased with the character his side demonstrated after a week of change.
He added: “I am very proud of the group of players for how they have carried and conducted themselves and it’s a really great afternoon for the group.
“Anybody who has watched that will have seen the lads go to the edge and beyond today with their physical output, so when you commit so much and get an outcome like that, it’s the best feeling.
“From our first meeting together I could see it in their eyes how much they wanted to come together and the staff have been unbelievably supportive. It’s a massive collective achievement.”
