The Fans Player Scheme (FPS) are once again raising money and encouraging food donations for the Lincoln Foodbank.
This is the fourth year in a row the initiative has been run, with supporters able to make donations up until Wednesday 20 December and the aim of beating last year’s total of £9,350.
Teaming up with the FPS and Lincoln City Football Club is Lincoln City Foundation, The Red Imps Community Trust, Lincoln City Former Players' Association, Lincolnshire Coop and Starglaze Home Improvements.
Supporters are able to make cash donations online by getting in contact with the Fans Player Scheme on Facebook HERE.
Alternatively, Starglaze Home Improvements have a designated drop-off point and will be offering incentives for anyone who donates.
City’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Reading on Saturday 16 December will be the Imps’ designated match and final call for donations, with Lincoln City Foundation hosting a collection with support from the Red Imps Community Trust and Lincoln City Former Players' Association.
Suggested food items for donation are:
- Cereal
- Soup
- Pasta
- Rice
- Tinned tomatoes/ pasta sauce
- Lentils, beans and pulses
- Tinned meat
- Tinned vegetables
- Tea/coffee
- Tinned fruit
- Biscuits
- UHT milk
- Fruit juice
All of the money raised will then receive a 10% increase from Lincolnshire COOP and then be exchanged into vouchers which Lincoln Foodbank will distribute with their food parcels.
Local businesses can also support the scheme. In return for a minimum donation of £25, the Fans Player Scheme will then provide a shoutout to tens of thousands of followers across multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
