Michael Skubala wants another strong performance as his side aim to go a third match unbeaten in Sky Bet League One.
Skubala is eager to help move the Imps up the table but understands the threats Cambridge United will pose to his side on Tuesday.
He said: “It’s going to be very difficult. There’s no easy game, but if we have ambition to keep pushing up the league, we have to go and get the points away from home.
“Cambridge will come out fighting as they are at home. It will be a different feel to the games we’ve had recently, so we’ll need to be competitive early on, as it’s not an easy place to go.”
Skubala has urged his team to embrace the physical aspect of the game on Tuesday night, and has emphasised the need to battle throughout the 90 minutes to secure a positive result.
He added: “Being away from home you have to fight for every ball, and we’ll have to wait for our opportunity to get the ball and do some damage in their half but it’ll be a very physical contest.”
