Imps chairman Clive Nates has congratulated City’s strategic advisor Landon Donovan after he was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
Landon has been involved with the Imps since 2021 and was recognised last week for his contribution to football in the USA.
He is the USA’s second-highest appearance holder, with 157 caps and 57 senior goals. He featured in three World Cups for his country and also won the MLS title four times as a player with LA Galaxy.
Landon collected his award at the induction ceremony at the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, at the beginning of the month.
Clive said: “Landon’s record speaks for itself - his contribution to US soccer has been massive and he continues to make his mark through his leadership role with San Diego Loyal.
“He has, of course, acted as a strategic advisor for us over the past couple of seasons. He is generous with his time and he will undoubtedly continue to contribute in a number of areas as we strive to drive the club forward.”
