Kye Perkins and Isaac Allan are hoping for a strong backing for their U17 Floodlit Cup final at the LNER Stadium.
There was a good turnout for the young Imps as they defeated Bolton Wanderers U17 in the semi-final last month, and the pair are hoping for another bumper crowd for Wednesday’s clash against Swindon Town U17.
Perkins said: “It’s very exciting and a good chance for us all to play in front of a big crowd with some important people in the club watching on too; it’s a good chance to show what we can do and hopefully impress.
“The support is massive. When the younger lads came down last time it gave us a huge boost and so we know it can help a lot. Hopefully we can get as many people down as possible because I think we’re a good team so it would be good to show people what we can do.”
Allan, who has gained experience with the first team this season through training and involvements in some matchday squads, added: “We’ve played well this season and it’ll be nice to get in front of a crowd again and show what we can do and hopefully put in a good performance to win the cup.
“If we were to play away, we wouldn’t have much support there other than parents, so it’s nice to have other people behind you at the LNER Stadium and hopefully next year we can get them back down to a game again in the cup competitions.”
Tickets for Wednesday’s final can be purchased at the entrance to the SRP 200 Club lounge, or online HERE!
