Sean Roughan is looking to build on his recent performances while out on international duty.
The defender has featured for Republic of Ireland U21 over the last week and is keen to take this experience into City’s final nine games of the campaign.
He said: “I was bouncing into the place because all the lads are great. From the minute I got in to the minute we left, it was unbelievable. To play for your country and have that opportunity is very good.
“You have to grasp those opportunities with two hands and that’s what I think I did. We now have to finish the remaining games of the season and hopefully pick up as many points as we can.”
At the age of 19 Roughan has played a key part for the Imps this season, which is something he is taking great pride from.
He added: “That’s the life of a footballer, sometimes you’re not in the team and sometimes you are. Hopefully I can continue to play more and more, and keep building up my minutes.
“It has been the best season of my career so far. The minutes I have played, the people I have come up against and the faith the head coach has put in me is good.”
