The Imps have held their place as the fifth best club in the country for fan engagement in the latest Fan Engagement Index with dialogue amongst supporters ranked top of the 92.
Fan Insights released their Fan Engagement Index for the 2021/22 season, rating every professional club in the top four divisions of English football. Each club is measured on their relationship with their supporters, with ratings given for dialogue, governance, and transparency.
The Imps have finished in fifth in the index for a second year running, increasing their score by 5 points with an overall total of 170; meaning City rank higher than any Premier League or Sky Bet Championship side.
Our score breakdown for the 2021/22 index sees the club secure joint first place with Bradford City, Plymouth Argyle, Luton Town and Portsmouth for dialogue with 80 points.
Further positive feedback has been received with the club gaining five positions in the Governance category, finishing joint 4th place with 50 points.
Standards have also remained high with transparency as we moved up into joint 5th place with a score of 40 points.
Imps chief executive Liam Scully said: “Over the last four fan engagement indexes we have seen the football club consistently achieve improvements to our score and consolidate our place in the top five.
“This comes as a result of the consistent hard work from ongoing projects and groups in partnership with the supporters. Because of that, we are proud to have again been ranked fifth in the country in the most recent index, above all sides from the Premier League and Championship.
“We are particularly proud of having the highest ranking for dialogue, as we have a duty to be as transparent as we can based on the importance we place on having a key involvement in the community both locally and more widely across the county.
“We will of course aim to build on this ranking and look to improve again to ensure the experience supporters have following the Imps is as positive as possible.”
