Imps fan Anthony York took a trip over the pond to support City’s partner club San Diego Loyal SC in early May - and was given a special warm welcome!
Anthony was over to visit his daughter Sadie who lives in California and both were able to watch a San Diego Loyals home fixture during his time in the USA.
Anthony said: “They were all so welcoming, especially Weston who works for the club. He made the home matchday very special for us and was able to sort us out with tickets and a suite with complimentary refreshments.
“On the away match we were invited to attend a Loyal supporters party at a local brewery to watch the match on big screens. How could we refuse? It was a popular event with an amazing atmosphere.”
Earlier in the 22/23 campaign San Diego Loyal supporter Sal took the trip to Lincoln to watch City's match against Portsmouth at the LNER Stadium.
Anthony and Sadie were also able to meet up with Sal at the games while over in the United States.
Anthony added: “Sal was also very welcoming and introduced us to many of his friends. Our common interest in football has certainly made us all friends for life.
“If anyone is fortunate enough to go to San Diego, they should certainly give the Loyals a visit.”
