Bronze partner Ticketmaster have recently won the Best Use of Technology in Football accolade at the Football Business Awards.
City took part in the company’s trial and subsequent implementation on their new away ticketing technology during the 22/23 campaign, which resulted in an award at the Football Business Awards.
The new technology allows all away tickets to be sold and fulfilled completely digitally, not only saving staff time when it comes to processing tickets, but also supporters who do not have to wait for the ticket to arrive in the post or go to the stadium to pick them up.
Rob Noble, head of supporter services at the Imps, said: "We worked closely with Ticketmaster on the project with their first game testing the new technology at the LNER Stadium against Blackburn Rovers in pre-season.
"Our own fans were then able to take advantage at the fixtures against Oxford United and Peterborough United in August before continuing with additional fixtures involving fellow Ticketmaster partnered clubs over the course of the season.
"Having delivered very significant resource savings to the club, environmental benefits as well as an improved supporter experience for purchasing away tickets, it’s great to see this piece of innovation being recognised and rewarded with an industry award.
"We would like to congratulate all the Ticketmaster team for their award and we look forward to continuing to work with them on future innovations."
