Ethan Erhahon believes his fitness is continuing to build after completing another pre-season friendly against King’s Lynn Town.
City drew 1-1 with the National League North side on Tuesday evening, with most of the squad getting another 45 minutes of football.
He said: "We had 45 minutes against Stockport County and have now had another half of football against King’s Lynn.
"These pre-season games are all about building fitness and I am starting to feel it happen. It’s been a hard couple of weeks but it should stand us in good stead for the season."
Erhahon is also keen to use the pre-season schedule as much as possible so he can hit the ground running when the first game of the new campaign comes around at Bolton Wanderers.
He added: "There’s no settling in period now as I had a couple of months at the end of last season. Now it’s time to hit the ground running and pick up from where I left off.
"I played against most teams last season, some who are at the top and some who are at the bottom of the table, so I have played against a good mix. I have learned quickly what to expect and I will be expecting the same from most teams this season."
