Mide Shodipo was delighted to get off the mark for the Imps on Tuesday night.
The 25-year-old scored City’s opener at Derby County and believes the goal will give him the confidence to kick on in the upcoming games.
He said: “I have to be ready for the rebounds and felt like I had to put my shot on target as the goalkeeper was coming out wide. I had to lift it over him a bit and I am pleased to get off the mark.
“For any attacker it is good to get your first goal as it gives you such a boost. Now I have confidence going into the next games that I can score and create more chances.”
Shodipo also felt the 2,286 travelling supporters drove the team on throughout the game to secure a hard-earned point and a fifth match unbeaten in the league.
He continued: “It was a great point for us. I thought we fought hard throughout the whole game and deserved to get a result out of it. Overall it was a good night for us.
“It was a great feeling to score and I was pleased so many Lincoln fans came out to support as they really helped and got us through the game.”
