Michael Skubala wants his City side to be on the front foot as the Imps look to end 2023 with a win.
City’s head coach wants his team to take the game to Northampton Town, who visit the LNER Stadium on Friday evening
He said: “Northampton are a resilient team, and they’re on a good run, but we’ve got to be on the front foot and take the game to them while being careful of the qualities they’ve got.
“It’s another tough game, but it’s another opportunity for us to show what we can do.”
The Imps sit ninth in Sky Bet League One, and Skubala is hoping City can maintain their position in the chasing pack and capitalise on it going into the latter stages of the season.
He added: “We are in a good position in the league table. We’ve got a tough period to come and if we are still in this position then we’ve got a chance of challenging higher up the division.”
