Lukas Jensen says City fans can help the Imps end 2023 on a high when they welcome Northampton Town to the LNER Stadium.
The Imps sit ninth in the Sky Bet League One table heading into the last fixture of the calendar year, and Jensen is hoping to kick on in 2024.
Jensen said: “We’re still in the top 10 and ninth in the league - we’ve just got to keep going.
“We’ve got some tough games coming up but if we start the new year in the best way possible then you never know what might happen, and then the gap to the top six might close even more.”
The Dane was also impressed with the atmosphere that City fans generated against Bolton Wanderers on Boxing Day and hopes to repay their backing against the Cobblers.
He added: “I think we had a really good performance against Northampton away, but we’ve got to be focused for 95 minutes otherwise anything can happen.
“The fans are always behind us, and they’ve been brilliant - we can’t ask for more. You could hear them for 90 plus minutes on Boxing Day and hopefully it’ll be the same against Northampton.”
