Danny Mandroiu believes City have the squad to kick on as the Imps travel to Northampton Town on Tuesday night.
City recorded their first win of the 23/24 season in a comfortable 3-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers, with Mandroiu scoring once and assisting twice in a man-of-the-match performance.
He said: “I think the squad we have this year is very good, and the players we bring on after 60 minutes will help the team so there’s competition all around the pitch.
“It was a good performance by everybody, and there’s no reason why we can’t build on that going forward.”
Mandroiu is also keen to continue his good start to the season, with the Irishman feeling more prepared after his first full pre-season with the Imps.
He added: “ I was happy to get a full pre-season under my belt so there’s no injury concerns. A proper pre-season has done me the world of good, and I feel very fit.
“It's key to having a good start to the season and kicking on.”
