Mark Kennedy wants to make it back-to-back league wins when City travel to Northampton Town on Tuesday.
The Imps enter the game following a 3-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, and the head coach will be hoping his side back up the weekend’s impressive performance against a tough Northampton Town side.
Kennedy said: “Every game we’ve had, I’ve always picked a team to win the game. I always want to win a game of football and Tuesday night is no different.
“We always respect the opposition and the competition we are in. Northampton have an outstanding manager, they are a big club, and they’ve got the potential to be a big League One club too.”
Kennedy took over at the Imps in the summer of 2022 and believes he now understands the league better than he did during his first campaign, gaining experiences he feels will help him and the team this season.
Kennedy added: “My understanding of the league, the level, the players and what’s required is better.
"We’ve had 14 months of creating our brand and our style, so we aren’t going into the unknown. We are a lot more confident this year."
