Mark Kennedy is looking forward to the atmosphere in City’s return to the LNER Stadium on Saturday.
The Imps host Wycombe Wanderers in the first home match of 23/24 at the weekend and the head coach is excited to reconnect with the City supporters after the summer break.
Kennedy said: “The things that always stand out to me are the home games and the connection with the fans. I am looking forward to that and it played a huge part in our success last year.
“The fans are so important. We have a group of fans that continually get behind us from start to finish and I think a good example of that was Peterborough United away last season.
“How the fans have connected and behaved towards us has been a real standout for me since I have been at the club.”
The Imps also completed the signing of Jack Burroughs on a season-long loan from Coventry City during the week, who is a player that Kennedy has been tracking for a while.
Kennedy continued: “I am really pleased to get Jack’s deal over the line. We have had our eye on him for some time. He is a very good player and is good technically with both feet.
“He is incredibly two-footed which is unique in modern football. He is a decent defender so I am really pleased to get that done.
“His versatility and adaptability to play in several positions was a key factor as well.”
