Mark Kennedy was pleased with the strong defensive performance which helped earn City maximum points at Shrewsbury Town.
The Imps beat Salop 1-0 at the Croud Meadow on Saturday afternoon, which followed on from the clean sheets already secured against Notts County and Wycombe Wanderers so far this campaign.
He said: “That’s three clean sheets in four games. Strikers win games, but defenders win titles. We are some way away from that but my point is that clean sheets are so important.
“It was really tough conditions for both teams but I was really pleased with our grit, determination and togetherness, especially off the back of Tuesday’s result.”
Hamilton’s first goal for the club helped secure another win for the Imps, with Kennedy happy with the points tally from his side over the past week.
He added: “It was a big goal for us. What I was most impressed with is Ethan was facing his own goal when he received the ball and, with one touch, he was facing the opposition goal.
“It’s nice to win on the road and to win with a clean sheet. We have now put seven points together in a short period of time.”
