Ethan Hamilton felt the way City battled to victory at Shrewsbury Town highlighted the determination within the squad.
The Imps made it three wins from four matches with a 1-0 win at the Croud Meadow on Saturday, with the midfielder keen to praise the whole squad's effort to secure all three points.
He said: “Every game is difficult in this league, especially away from home, and we had to grind it out - at half-time we said to just keep going, and the goal came, so it’s a really pleasing win.
“You can see how strong our bench is and everyone wants to be playing. When people are getting tired we can change the game.
“Everyone is backing each other because we have a really good group that supports one another.”
Hamilton’s first goal for the Imps proved the difference in Shropshire, but the Scot already now has his sights set on City’s next match at home to Blackpool.
He added: “I like to try and get my shots away and in the first few games I’ve not done it as much as I would’ve liked. It was a great pass from Lasse Sorensen for me.
“It’s a positive start but we just need to keep going and keep fighting for each other. It’s onto the next match now, which is Blackpool at the weekend.”
