Mark Kennedy has praised his side’s character to come out on top in a frenetic afternoon at the LNER Stadium.
Adam Jackson’s late header helped secure a third straight victory as the Imps beat Port Vale 3-2 in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.
Kennedy said: “I am really pleased for Adam Jackson who is really dominant both in the air and defensively. It was a high-octane game and was nice to come out on the right side of the result.
“I am really proud of the group and everybody connected with the club. We’re all on a really positive journey but we still have five big games to go.”
Kennedy also paid tribute to this season’s Junior Takeover Day and all the participants who got involved in what was a successful day for the club both on and off the field.
He added: “I think it’s a brilliant idea and brilliant concept. From what I saw before the game, it went down really well.
“Football is all about making people fall in love with the game and it’s little things like that which go a long way to doing it. Hopefully we can have an impact on future generations.”
