It was a particularly successful international period for the Irish Imps on a personal level.
Oisin Gallagher proved to be a key player for his country’s U19 European Championship qualification after starting in Ireland U19's 6-0 win over Gibraltar U19.
An appearance in a 2-0 win over Wales U19 was soon followed by a start in a 1-0 victory against Hungary, which saw Gallagher and his team rise to the top of their respective qualification group.
Sean Roughan had something to celebrate on an individual basis whilst with Ireland U21 as he received his first cap after coming on in the Euro U21 play-off second leg fixture against Israel, which unfortunately ended in defeat on penalties.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Sam Long was an unused sub in Scotland U21’s friendlies against Northern Ireland U21 and Carl Rushworth made the bench in England U21’s 3-1 triumph over Germany U21 after receiving a late call-up to the squad.
