Matty Virtue says he is loving life as an Imp after featuring in every league game since joining City.
The midfielder, on loan from Blackpool, is pleased with the football he is playing but believes there is still more to come from the side as relationships continue to grow on the pitch.
He said: “I am loving it and have started well - all the lads are class and I am really enjoying playing football again. Hopefully we can build on the Charlton result and look to move higher in the table.
“You want to know who you are playing with and it is all about making relationships. We are a strong squad of good players and we all want to contribute.”
Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Charlton extended City’s unbeaten home league start to the season and Virtue believes that his side showed a fight and determination defensively to earn the point.
He added: “I thought we had them in the last 15 minutes in both halves. I thought we were the stronger side and got into the final third quite easily, it was just the end product that let us down.
“It was a massive battle and we talked about that before the game. We knew they were going to win their share of headers so it was about getting in and around them to win the second balls and I thought we did that really well.”
