Imps manager Michael Appleton is keen for a strong showing as his side travel to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
The boss is pleased with a few recent results but emphasises the importance of high performance levels when looking for consistency.
He said: “It’s about getting the balance right with performance. You’re not going to get too many results if you don’t perform and we’ve got to be careful because we’ve picked up a couple of results recently where we’ve dug in and the performances have been at a basic level.
“For us to continue to do that will be very difficult and dangerous so we need to find a way of making sure we up our performance levels, get better with the ball and then hopefully the wins and the points will come a lot more freer.”
Appleton respects the quality of Salop forward Daniel Udoh and their team as a whole but ensures that the Imps are excited for the challenge.
He added: “He’s a player that’s got some really good attributes. He’s a very physical boy, athletic and has good pace.
“I think they’ve scored eight in their last two games and I know they’ve kept five clean sheets in their last six so they’re in really good form, it will be a difficult game. It’s usually a good pitch down there so it’s one we are looking forward to.”
