Carl Rushworth was pleased to get his first 90 minutes as an Imps player clocked off as City continued their pre-season preparations at Hartlepool United.
Rushworth, on loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, made a couple of good saves and commanded his area well at the Suit Direct Stadium.
He said: “It’s nice to get 90 minutes under my belt after playing for 60 minutes at Sheffield United on Tuesday.
“It’s about the game time, getting used to my new team-mates - their strengths and weaknesses. It’s about the relationships on and off the field so I know the defenders will be there when I need them and I when they need me.”
Rushworth has settled well into life in Lincolnshire as he looks to follow in the footsteps of England U21 team-mate Josh Griffiths, who spent last season on loan with the Imps.
He added: “I know Josh and know he was flying last season until the injury at the end. I knew Lincoln would be a great opportunity for me and the perfect place to come on loan.
“We have to be patient because there’s only one position we can play in, but it’s about doing what’s right to try and keep the shirt.”
