City goalkeeper, Carl Rushworth, says he is eager to get started following his arrival on loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
The England U21 international spent last season on loan at Walsall where he amassed more than 40 appearances for the Sky Bet League Two side.
Carl said: "I'm really pleased to be here and I can’t wait to get going.
“From speaking to Jez more than a month ago, to having introductions with everybody at the club, I feel very welcomed and I’m just buzzing to get going.”
With plenty of interest in Carl’s signature across the EFL, the shot-stopper says it was the strength in detail as well as the personal touches that attracted him to the club.
He said: "I had interest and that’s always nice to know, but Lincoln spoke to me first and both Jez and Mark will have been in contact with Brighton long before that.
“After the first meeting with them I had a really good feeling about it and Jez was keeping in contact with me, so things like that go a long way and I’m very glad to be here."
With Carl featuring for the first time in an Imps shirt against Sheffield United on Tuesday, he describes himself as a composed player and is eager to build strong relationships within the group as City gear up for the opening fixture of the season at the LNER Stadium against Exeter.
He added: “I look calm and composed, but I’m confident on the field. One of my strengths is my distribution and shot stopping, there is a lot of areas I want to improve and with Mark and Scott Fry there is opportunity for me to do that.
“I can’t wait to get up to speed and start feeding off the players. It’s important we all know each others strengths so when we get to the first game of the season, we’re raring to go.”
