The Queen’s Baton visited the LNER Stadium on Sunday as part of its relay throughout Lincoln en route to the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Lincoln City Foundation marked the occasion with a range of activity to showcase their community work, with the men’s walking football team taking on Nottingham Forest in a tournament.
The women’s walking football squad and DS Active team also took part in activities prior to the arrival of the baton, which was carried onto the 3G pitch by baton beater Paul Graham.
Sport Minister Nigel Huddlestone was also present and chatted to Foundation staff about the work they do in the area before everyone present was able to get an image with the baton.
The baton then continued its journey through the city, being carried through the city centre and up Steep Hill to Castle Square before finishing its travelling for the day in front of the iconic Cathedral.
