John Marquis is already enjoying his time with City after finding the back of the net on Saturday versus Plymouth Argyle.
The Imps number 27 kickstarted his Lincoln career with a debut goal and sang his teammates’ praises for the way they fought back to win from a goal behind: “It was nice to open my account early doors.
“With more training and a few more games, I'll have more sharpness and be up to speed with the rest of the lads.”
Marquis continued by reflecting on City's performance at Home Park saying: “I think in the first half Plymouth had a spell where they got on top and obviously scored, but we showed good character, we just kept digging in to get the reward.
“Set pieces in this league are massive and it was a great goal from Max (Melbourne) at the end to make the journey home a lot better.”
John finished by explaining how he has had a warm welcome since arriving at LNER Stadium: “I’ve come here and straight away the lads have been fantastic, the staff, the supporters, everyone. Since I walked in, they’ve all been really positive, it's a great atmosphere to be around, I'm looking forward to kicking on now.”
