Liam Cullen says he has settled right in at Lincoln City after bagging his first goal for the club in Saturday’s draw with Wycombe Wanderers.
He has become an important character in Michael Appleton’s squad since joining in January and likes the way the boss works.
He said: “I’ve settled in really well. I wanted to come here when I knew Lincoln were interested so I got here as quick as I could and I couldn’t speak highly enough of the club since I’ve been here. The players, the staff, everyone’s been really good to me and I’m really happy where I am.
“His years in management speak for themselves. He obviously trusts in youth and I think it’s good to have that blend of youth and experience. We have people like Chris Maguire and John Marquis in the team and they really help us along the way.”
Cullen feels the Imps have improved and this was highlighted as they battled hard for a point against a challenging Chairboys side.
He added: “The game shows how much we’ve come on in the last few weeks I’d say. I think we definitely stood up to the physical fight more than we have in recent weeks and we needed to because of the team we were up against.
“Another home game on Tuesday so we’ll go into that and hopefully get three points like we did last Tuesday. It’s just about getting ourselves ready, recovering right and being ready for the game.”
