City U18s returned to winning form as they beat Mansfield Town at home courtesy of two goals from Kyrell Wheatley in the 52nd and 60th minutes.
Lead PDP coach Ash Foyle said: “We had a tough first half and didn’t quite show enough bravery on the ball to affect the game in the opposition half. After half time we showed more composure and better movement to allow us to play our normal game and dominated from there.
"Kyrell Wheatley scored an excellently worked goal before adding another through a reward for a high press that was timed well. We did concede a sloppy goal, but we showed a very pleasing reaction to stay on track and not let that affect our positivity.
"We have managed to blood some of next year’s scholar group who all acquitted themselves extremely well which is encouraging for what next season will look like.”
