Having considered a number of factors, including the results from the recent supporter survey, Elite Pro Sports and Lincoln City FC have taken the decision to close the Waterside store at the end of December with a view to enhancing the retail experience at the LNER Stadium.
This has seen a new retail unit installed in the University of Lincoln fan village which has proved popular with supporters along with a planned trial of extended opening hours at the existing club store.
CEO of Elite Pro Sports Lee Jenkinson added, “On the back of Covid-19, we saw a vast shift in fans purchasing behaviours, with a substantial increase in online orders, despite the store being back open regularly.
“Collectively with the club, we have looked to work several initiatives over the last 12 months to bring footfall back to the level of pre-pandemic and although this has not been successful as we had hoped, the online sales have continued to grow.
“We’d like to thank the Waterside Shopping Centre for all their hard work and assistance over the last three years and wish them every success for the future.”
There will be a range of closing down offers available to Imps fans from the Waterside store which will close permanently at 4:30pm on Saturday 31 December 2022.
Supporters will still be able to purchase merchandise from the online store and from the club store at LNER Stadium which will also be opening at weekends on a trial basis from Saturday 7 January 2023.
The retail addition in the University of Lincoln fan village will also be accessible to supporters ahead of every home match. The opening times for the club store in January are listed below.
Mon – Fri 10am – 5pm
Sat – 9am – 5pm
Sun – 10am – 4pm
