City captain Tom Hopper is determined for a reaction against Bolton Wanderers.
The Imps were defeated on Boxing Day in an uncharacteristic performance, but Hopper is raring for the upcoming fixture at the LNER Stadium as he and his team-mates aim for a positive result.
He said: “It’s a busy period so we can’t feel sorry for ourselves, we have to put things right on Friday night. We’ll learn from it, digest the game, and then fully focus on Bolton.
"We have to try to bounce back and have a reaction as quickly as possible. It’s a busy period and the next game is right around the corner, so we must be fast to move on.”
One source of pride for City’s number nine was the backing of the travelling Imps who demonstrated their support at the Pirelli Stadium throughout.
He added: “Our fans are amazing and back us everywhere we go. We can’t thank them enough and apologise for our performance.
“We and the fans were not happy, and rightly so. We owe it to them to try and salvage some pride and put in a performance that reflects us as a club.”
