Following a successful pre-season with the Imps, City forward Charles Vernam is ready for competitive action in Sky Bet League One.
Having joined the club from Bradford City this summer to join his boyhood club, Vernam is thankful to the medical staff who have aided his recovery in preparation for the visit to Peterborough United on Saturday.
He said: “It’s great to be back and involved. When you see the lads go out for the first game of the season you miss it, and you crave to be involved.
“I’m grateful to the medical team for getting me back and I’m ready to compete for a place.”
Having started every pre-season match in the build-up to the new campaign, Lincolnshire born Vernam is ready to kick on and make an impact if Mark Kennedy calls upon him.
He added: “All the fitness was under my belt, and now that I’ve come in, I feel like I haven’t lost too much.
“I feel in a good place, I’m fit and ready to go if I get called upon.”
