Mark Kennedy feels the arrival of forward Jack Diamond adds something different to his frontline.
The 22-year-old joined the Imps on a season-long loan on Monday and brings good experience from his parent club Sunderland as well as two loan spells at Sky Bet League Two side Harrogate Town.
Kennedy said: "Jack can play off either wing or up front, and he offers us something completely different to what we’ve had in the building
"He comes with good experience - he knows what first-team football is all about, which helps for sure."
City have had to be patient to secure Diamond’s signature, with a number of other clubs competing to sign him.
Kennedy added: "He has been on the bench every week for Sunderland and we have had to be patient.
There were a lot of people after Jack, so credit to the recruitment team for their work to get him in."
