Mark Kennedy is pleased with the spirited performance from his side as the Imps fought their way to their first league win of the season.
City secured maximum points for the first time in the 2022/23 campaign and Kennedy was thrilled with the effort of his team in both boxes.
He said: “I am pleased with our first three points of the season. I thought we showed two really important sides of us.
“From a footballing perspective I thought we were awesome in the first half and played some really good football, we deserved to go into the break 2-0 up.
“In the second half, we showed our grit and determination. We saw young men being leaders on the pitch. They are a super group who are really hard-working.”
City forwards Tom Hopper and Anthony Scully both found the net and Kennedy was eager to praise the ruthlessness of his side in front of goal at the Kassam Stadium.
He continued: “In the final third, that is what you are judged on. People look at goals, assists, key passes and the end product ultimately.
“I do not think we had many chances but you only need one to win a game of football.”
