Lincoln City have agreed a partnership with professional snooker player Steve Hallworth.

The club and Steve will also work together to explore commercial opportunities as well as opportunities for community engagement.

Steve had the Imps logo on his waistcoat during his recent outing in the European Masters.
He said: “To be associated with a club as big as Lincoln is going to help my profile and to be able to support the club as well, that can only be a good thing.

“Lots has changed over the past few years which is great to see, they invited me into the Legends Lounge which is a brilliant asset, and to be interviewed in there and on the pitch at half-time for the Forest Green game was brilliant. I really enjoyed supporting the guys in that game.”

Steven is hopeful of working with Lincoln City Foundation to encourage more people locally to take up snooker.

He said: “Trying to develop snooker at a grassroots level in Lincoln is a passion for me, and I know the guys at the Foundation here do a lot a work for the kids getting into football.

“That is a big thing for me, when I was a kid growing up playing snooker there were loads of us starting out at the game. Grassroots has taken a little bit of decline in recent years, so I’d be keen to approach and try to tackle that and improve the general level. “

The 26 year-old is from Skellingthorpe, and hoping he can continue his progression in the world of snooker with help from the Imps.

He added: “Lincoln City is a massive platform for me to be involved with, it can difficult as an individual sportsman for me to approach people for sponsorship and support but the guys here have the contacts to get me to the person who makes those decisions.“A dream as a kid was to go on and lift the world title, that’s something we all aspire to do. Doing well in a ranking event is a target, but for now the aim is to break into the top 64 and cement myself on the tour and then try and kick on from there.”
