Imps goalscorer Anthony Scully felt the squad were confident going into their Sky Bet League One fixture versus Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
City secured three points on the road as they beat the Addicks 2-1 at the Valley, with Morgan Whittaker opening the scoring shortly after the half-hour mark.
Speaking about Lincoln’s performance, Anthony Scully praised his team-mates saying: "It was a great performance from everybody.
"We were confident going into the game, you could sense it within the group that there was a real desire to win, we worked hard to secure three points.
"I thought we mixed it up well with our pressing and you could see that there was a real togetherness on the pitch. Jordan Wright made some important saves to keep us ahead and we defended really well with 10 men to see the game out at 2-1."
The forward took his tally for the season to 13 goals in all competitions after finding the back of the net in the 76th minute.
Speaking about the build-up to his winning goal, Scully said: “I like that type of finish where I cut inside and hit the ball once I’ve dropped the shoulder.”
“I knew I was in a good position when I looked up and saw the goal. I'm pleased the shot paid off because I practice that one in training every day!
“The goal came at a really good time in the game, and I’m delighted to have helped the team secure three points against a tough opponent.
“It was great to have the electric reception from the Lincoln fans, I loved hearing them throughout the game making noise behind the goal."
City boss Michael Appleton made six changes before the game, bringing club captain Liam Bridcutt back into the starting 11 following a forced period out through injury.
Scully added: "We are delighted to have Liam back; he is top drawer on and off the pitch with what he does for us as a group.
"To have him available is massive for the squad, the way he communicates and handles our game management is important, everybody saw that."
