Hakeeb Adelakun has praised his teammates as the Imps picked up three points on the road with a convincing 5-1 victory over Cambridge United.
The City forward opened the scoring after just 22 seconds, finishing Anthony Scully’s cross inside the area.
Hakeeb spoke highly of the Imps’ number 11 before discussing his teammates: “It’s a joy to play with Scully, he is in great form and made a massive contribution today.”
“I thought it was a great performance from all of the boys; we came out with all cylinders firing. You could tell in the warm-up that we wanted to get things going and that’s exactly what we did.
“We knew we needed to take the positives from the Bradford game and that’s what we did today, it was a ruthless performance.
“We kept level-headed throughout the game, there were strong contributions all over the pitch. Josh (Griffiths) made some important saves, and the defence kept their shape.”
Adelakun finished by explaining how confidence is growing within the group: “It’s time to keep on building and keep our season going in full flow.
“The fans were great; they were loud throughout the game, and we gave them goals to celebrate. We just need to try to continue that, goals build confidence, and everything seems to be gelling right now.”
