Anthony Scully says confidence is high as he looks to add to the 11 goals he has already hit for the Imps this season.
He could not find a way past Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, but fully expects to add to his tally again soon.
He said: “At the start of the season it felt like everything I was hitting was going in. At the minute I’m still getting in the same areas in and around the box, I Just haven’t been putting them away in the past couple of weeks.
“That happens as a forward, I’d rather be getting in those positions and not scoring, rather than not even getting in there. I’ll get another one and then hopefully all the goals will come back again.”
The Irishman expects Tuesday’s night’s fixture against Wigan Athletic to be a tough test for the travelling Imps.
Scully knows if his side can match the performance levels from Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday, then he is confident of returning from Greater Manchester with something from the match.
He said: “It’s going to be a similar game to the one we had on Saturday. It’s a game against a big club who are doing well.
“They will have a good fan base with a good atmosphere, so we just have to approach it the same way we did on Saturday and, if we do that, we’ll be fine. We were well in the game on Saturday and could’ve won it, so if we go with the same mindset it should be a good match.
“We have picked up a good couple of results lately, a draw on Saturday and a win the week before that, so we just have to take that into the game.”
