We can confirm that Craig Housley has joined the club as Head Groundsman following a period of time as a consultant.
Following his appointment, Craig said: "I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to work as Head Groundsman at Lincoln City.
"We have everything needed at a football club to create high quality playing surfaces, with the Soper of Lincoln Elite Performance Centre being a fine example of that. With the investment this pre-season, we will be able to mirror the quality of playing surfaces we have at the training ground on matchdays at the LNER Stadium.
"This is a really forward thinking club and I am excited to get started."
With the renovation of the pitch at LNER Stadium currently in progress, Craig is working alongside Simon Hutton of Fineturf to significantly improve the quality of the playing surface.
Director of Football, Jez George explained the importance of the works at LNER Stadium saying: "The quality of the stadium pitch is absolutely crucial to the style of play developed by Michael Appleton over the last 18 months and one that is integral to our football strategy for continuing the long-term progress of the club.
"The speed of the ball roll is so important for the players and that can only be achieved with a properly constructed surface. We are extremely grateful to the Board for their continued support following the instillation of a similar pitch at the Soper of Lincoln Elite Performance Centre, it will make a huge difference to how we play at home.
"This will have been the first really significant investment into the pitch for many years, if not ever, and the photos detailing the work already completed will show the scale of the project.
"We are delighted to be partnering with such an outstanding company in Fineturf and with the appointment of Craig Housley as our Head Groundsman, leading a hard-working and dedicated team of ground staff, we know that our pitches are in fantastic hands."
