Assistant manager David Kerslake says his side’s fitness is progressing well as they build up to the new season.
Saturday saw the injury-hit Imps defeated at Boston United in a match which was played in temperatures approaching 30c.
Kerslake said: “They were quite severe conditions, it was incredibly hot and took a bit out of them.
“We drafted in three trialists to help us out and help their fitness, and they played alongside a lot of Academy players as we continue our recruitment.
“These are still young players and while we are disappointed to lose any match, the focus was fitness.
"There were a couple of players who sat out today because of knocks and we hope to have them back on Tuesday when we head to Norwich."
