Conor McGrandles says the Imps are capable of getting something out of Wednesday’s game at Rotherham United.
City suffered a frustrating loss against MK Dons on Boxing Day, but the overall performance gives the midfielder belief.
He said: “The late goals are sickeners but we’ve played well in our recent games so we need to look at the positives to keep the confidence high. They gave us a really good game last time so we know what’s coming, but if we play as well as we did in parts on Boxing Day we can go and cause an upset.
“We’ve got a group of boys who are already speaking about winning at Rotherham, we think we can go into every game and win it.”
McGrandles felt the Imps players need to learn from the defeat to MK Dons, but says the players have the right attitude to get some good results in the upcoming away games.
He added” “We shouldn’t have lost that game - the goals we conceded weren’t good enough. We’ve had some great chances to kill the game off and we didn’t so we need to learn from that, but also we need to take the positives because there were some really good bits in that performance.
“Every player is bringing 100% effort every day, you can’t question that with this group. Training in the past few weeks has been the best it has ever been in terms of intensity and people pushing each other - you can see on the pitch we’re giving our all and it’ll turn we just need that bit of luck.”
