Imps captain Liam Bridcutt is determined to go on an extended run of games after recovering fully from injury.
The midfelder returned to the starting line-ups against Crewe Alexandra and Cheltenham Town, his first action since the start of October, and he is now ready to put his hand up to play a full part in a traditionally hectic festive fixture list.
He said: “I feel good. The medical department and manager have been very good with me - he hasn’t pushed me, he’s allowed me to recover well and get fit.
“It was a difficult period because we thought I’d return a lot earlier than I did, that was tough to deal with.”
Bridcutt may have not been out on the pitch during games, but he has still been a supportive voice for his team-mates behind the scenes.
He added: “You’re always desperate to be a part of the group and to help the lads. I was always in and around the dressing room, even out at the warmups.
“It’s just a case of us having a young group and keeping on top of them in terms of preparation and being an experienced head to give advice. That’s part of the reason why the manager has me as captain, because I take on that role in terms of advice and guidance and I’m there for them on and off the pitch.”
