Ted Bishop and Hakeeb Adelakun continued their preparations for the new season with 45 minutes each at Stockport County.
The summer signings each started as a young Imps side were given a runout at Carrington, the Hatters’ training ground.
They both showed glimpses of the skill that convinced the Imps to sign them, with Bishop curling an effort just over the bar after cutting inside on the half-hour mark.
And Adelakun saw a shot blocked after Anthony Scully’s effort was deflected into his path.
Stockport, playing a strong side, had taken the lead after 26 minutes when Will Collar was played through on goal. He rounded the trialist goalkeeper before firing home.
Cohen Bramall saw a free-kick blocked and James Jones pulled a shot just wide as the Imps looked to draw level.
Remy Longdon saw an effort blocked early in the second period after gliding past several defenders, while Jones had a powerful effort stopped by Ben Hinchcliffe in the home goal after a scramble in the area.
Stockport doubled their advantage after 65 minutes when Alex Reid headed home a high cross.
